So I just got Java MC finally but I have no clue where to get mods and shaders from. I keep seeing stuff about Forge, Curseforge, Modrinth, Fabric and debates between Optifine and Sodium.
I play minecraft through badlion client and I downloaded the shaders I want and went through the process but when I started my game and went to minecraft options the shaders button in video settings doesn’t even exist. I’ve seen no other person with this problem and don’t know how to fix it.
Click that, choose a version of Minecraft, and choose the newest version of the Fabric modloader. Use the launcher to install the Iris Shaders and Sodium mods. If done correctly, you can go in-game to your video settings menu and see a new "Shader Packs" button. Click on shader packs, and then the "Open Folder" button.
Is it possible to use shaders with Realms? When I load up Minecraft 1.20.6 on my PC even with the shaderpacks folder installed in my Minecraft directory there is no option for shaders in my video settings. I’m using a resource pack and it’s okay I just was hoping to take advantage of the beautiful new shaders when playing my realm.
When I try to install shaders, I put them in the shaderpacks folder and they show up in the shaders menu in game, which is fine. The problem arises when I go to put the shader pack on.
When you open the F3 screen, on the right you should see what GPU Minecraft is using. To use the dedicated card (at least for NVIDIA), navigate to NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Global Settings, and change Preferred graphics processor to "High-performance NVIDIA processor". What shaders will work best for [insert specs here]?
